오늘 스터디에서(모임 gathering)에서 마케팅에 대해서 이야기 하려 합니다.
I gotta tell you about marketing in today's gathering.
언젠가 책을 한권 읽은 적이 있습니다. 그 책에서 저자가 말하기를 자기는 남극에서도 냉장고를 팔 수 있다고 자랑하듯 말하는 것을 봤었습니다.
I read a book one day.
The author of the book blew his own horn about the abilities to sell refrigerators in south pole region.
The author of the book bragged about his abilities to sell refrigerators in south pole region.
The author of the book boasted about his abilities to sell refrigerators in south pole region.
그리고 그는 자신이 좋은 마케터라고 자랑해댔었죠.
and he boasted about himself as a good marketer.
마케팅을 전공한 저로서는 그 사람을 마케터라고 말하기는 어렵다고 생각합니다.
Having majored in marketing, I can't see him as a marketer.
마케터라기 보다는 홍보 스페셜리스트라고 하는게 맞겠죠.
He is much closer to a sales specialist rather than a marketer.
많은 사람들이 마케팅과 홍보의 차이를 구분하지 못하고 있습니다.
Many people can't distinguish between Marketing and publicity.
그리고 그 책의 저자 또한 마케팅과 홍보의 차이를 구분하지 못하고 있습니다.
and the author of the book also couldn't distinguish those of differences.
so I'd like to explain the differences today.
홍보는 단순히 물건을 많이 팔기 위해 하는 모든 활동을 의미하죠.
Publicity means all of the activities to sell their products.
